Phase 1 - Return to School - Week 3 - Monday 11th May
We have been working hard preparing for this term and the various phases that the Premier and Minister for Education have announced for NSW schools during COVID-19. The new phase model is flexible, allowing students to be reintroduced to some face-to-face learning at school, starting from week 3. The school has an enrolment of 278 students in 11 classrooms with limited extra teaching/learning spaces.
Please see the timetable attached that will commence in Week 3. Our school goal is to educate your children safely and maintain their social and emotional wellbeing. We will be using our larger teaching/learning spaces to ensure social distancing measures are adhered to.
Each day we have allocated two to three classes on site plus children of essential service workers. Initially the minister has stated approximately 25% (70 students) are expected to be on site at any one time.
Parents and carers are encouraged to send their child to school on their allocated day during this transition phase.
Grade teachers are aligned to their usual class which will allow explicit face to face teaching and explicit feedback for each student per class. The main teaching content on this day will be focused on literacy and numeracy.
The school will still be open and operational for students that need to attend on days other than their timetabled day, but where practical, parents are encouraged to keep their children at home.
